Salary Range: $95,000-$120,000 annual
Job Summary: The Executive Director is the senior staff member of Harbor Homes of Martha’s Vineyard who is responsible for providing leadership for the organization as well as operational management. The Executive Director is responsible to plan, develop, and administer an array of homeless prevention programs and services that support Islanders who are dealing with housing insecurity or homelessness. S/he ensures that Harbor Homes programs reflect best practices, are of high quality and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations The Executive Director is responsible for updating the Board on the organization’s activities and accomplishments.
Responsibilities:
Promote the mission of Harbor Homes by developing and administering an array of high-quality homeless prevention services and programs.
Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services.
Develop the internal resources of the organization by strengthening systems and procedures to enhance and sustain its operations.
Develop and direct a business plan that promotes the mission and growth of the agency.
Assist the Board of Directors with the development of policies and procedures that are consistent with the philosophy and mission of Harbor Homes
Represent the organization, serving as a public spokesperson with the community, media, and key constituents.
Facilitate and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and external stakeholders.
Oversee community outreach and fundraising activities including grant writing.
Oversee the organization’s finances. Develop and monitor the agency’s budget and submit regular reports for approval by the Board of Directors.
Interpret and apply the requirements of grant requests for proposals, grant awards, and regulations.
Develop and monitor contracts with outside vendors.
Manage agency assets.
Collect data and note progress on mission and goals in monthly reports to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications and Requirements.
Demonstrated success in providing leadership to and program development of a non-profit organization.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Experience with strategic planning and ability to develop and oversee budgets.
Demonstrated experience in project, program, and/or organizational management.
Demonstrated record of effective staff management.
Demonstrated fundraising skills and experience.
Proficient use of computers for communication and management.
Goal oriented and willing to hold self and others accountable.
Successful experience working collaboratively with other community agencies, stakeholders, advisory groups.
Strong writing and communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including being non-judgmental toward vulnerable clients.
A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field is required and a master’s degree in human services, business or in a related field is preferred.
Five or more years of increasing administrative responsibility is preferred.
